I love this one!
So, you have your shiny, brand new, fresh plastic smelling G1 phone, and you’re ready to take the first step in customizing your precious high tech piece of gadgetry? Well, I’ve got a few places you can go to do just that!
I don’t know about youl, but one of the very first things I do when I get a new phone is search for a couple of different things, and wallpaper is usually the first. Nothing sets off a nice phone like crisp, sharp wallpaper. It gives your G1 phone character, and in a world where it’s quite likely that you friend/neighbor/co-worker or someone else close to you may have one, it helps identify your phone on the fly (unless you’re both using the same wallpaper, which, in that case, I’ll leave it to you!).
Anyway, after a bit of searching, and with the help of my friends over at the G-1 Forum, here are a few links to sites where you can go download freshly made G1wallpapers right now!
Note: To install these wallpapers, just get on the site with your G1, find whatever image you want for your wallpaper, and “long press” on the image and tap “Save As”. That’s it!
1. G1 Phone Wallpaper -Â This site appears to be very new, but whoever the owner is did a good job of assembling some wallpapers that will fit your G1phone perfectly. There appears to be around 43 wallpapers at the moment, with more to be added frequently from what it seems. Keep up the good work!
2. G1 Wallpapers – Here is another cool site that is offering up some very nice wallpapers for your G1 phone (free, of course!). With everything from Mario Brothers to Obama ’08, you’re sure to find something that suits your sense of style and mood. Big props to this designer!
3. G1 Wallpapers – Another new blog that popped up which contains a growing collection of wallpapers. Worth checking out!
4. Talk Android G1 Wallpapers – Obviously a great G1 related site, you’ll find plenty of wallpapers in this section.

okay i went to that website did everything and once i got to the screen that said download this image it dident work bummed but ill keep trying to find a way its the same with the ringtones they play but i cant save them to the phone i think its just saving stuff to the phone thats the hard part any ideas would be appreciated thanks.
I also have some collection if you guys like it … people are loving it ..

Another option is to mount your G! using the USB cable and save images to your SD Card. The G1 automatically detects folders with images in them and adds them to your Pictures App (which makes them available to be set as a Wallpaper).
One important point to note is that the preferred size of the G1 Wallpaper is 640×480. Otherwise you’ll be prompted to crop the image and you may result in a pixelated result.

Just hold the pic for a few seconds. You can now save/ download it.
