16gb MicroSD Card For T-Mobile G1 Phone

A lot of you were wondering if you could use a 16gb MicroSD storage card with your new T-Mobile G1 phone…
Great news! The answer is a resounding “yes”!
Ryan from over at the T-Mobile forums confirmed today that 16gb cards were working just fine, as long as it was one of the mainstream brands, and not some underground black market thing you picked up on the street corner.
Looking around, I found that there is quite a price jump going from 8gb to 16gb, but for those that will be in that “heavy user” category when it comes to G1 phone usage, then this might be an investment that you want to make. Doubling your storage capacity on any sort of device is never a bad thing if you can pop for it.
Here are some that I found that were still in stock (yes, they are selling these like hot cakes, as it seems a good portion of the G1 phone user base are snatching these cards up at alarming rates!)
1. SanDisk 16 GB MicroSDHC Card
2. Transcend 16GB SDHC CARD (SD 2.0 SPD CLASS 6) with Compact Card Reader
3. SanDisk 8GB microSDHC Card CLASS 2
Again, I’m not trying to push this stuff on you, but if you’re seriously thinking about buying a 16gb card to upgrade your G1 phone storage, then buying one now would probably be a pretty smart choice. You have to remember, with the Christmas holiday season coming up, and the high level buzz and popularity of the G1 phone, finding one of these puppies next month is either going to cost you a lot more, or be impossible to find altogether.
Good luck!

I have a Sandisk 16gb microsdhc, and it just hangs trying to do email attachments or open Pictures, as it cannot complete getting a list of pictures. Music and Videos are fine, and I can open pictures by using Discover. It just shows an All Pictures box in the background as it searches forever. RC33 and all updates. Can’t find a good email at Google to report this!
