G1 Reviews Hitting The Internet Like Crazy

So, I guess all the buzz about the new G1 phone from Google has you excited? Well, here are the things you have been waiting to know about Google’s new “toy”, although I am sure you will find that the G1 is everything but a toy.  It is a complex networking device that could be all the rage in the months to come (in the nerd world, of course!)

The G1 is an HTC phone with the Android operating system. The phone comes in three different colors; black, white, and bronze.  It sports an actual keyboard, and comes standard with a 1 gig hard drive. You will, however, have the option of upgrading your hard drive to an 8 gig or even higher. The phone has a removable battery, and is equipped to take digital stills.  While the G1 does indeed come equipped with an application for viewing video, it cannot film video.

When you first turn on your G1, you will arrive at the home screen.  One thing you will find is that the page is bigger than the screen, and the G1 allows you to scroll over the entire length of the page, simply by dragging your finger across it.  Dragging and dropping seems to be the norm for Google’s new G1.

One thing that you will be sure to love about the G1 is that everything is interlinked.  For example, you go to your contacts, select your friend, select their address, and go right into Google maps.  This system, designed for optimal ease of use and navigation, comes off very impressive, and is not disappointing.

As far as online browsing, you might as well have your PC in your pocket!  Fast loading, fully accessible, seamless browsing, type in the webpage URL, or browse for that matter. The G1 lets you do it all. So, for those of you that don’t just want a phone… for those of you who want to literally put their computer in their pocket, and go….well, the G1 will NOT leave you disappointed.
