With Android emerging at the productive rate that it is, be ready for some more applications heading your way towards your G1 that help network and enhance your Android/G1 experience. Also, it is predicted that after 2010, it will be easier to get an Android phone (like the G1) rather than an iPhone.

On this premise, it would be great to see the G1 (or any Android-based phone) take over the whole iPhone market.

• ALT + Delete – Delete one line of text.
• ALT + Q – Indention / tab.
• ALT + Spacebar – Insert a special character.
• ALT + Trackball – Put cursor at start or end of text.
• Menu + A – Select all of the text that you have made.
• Shift Twice – Enable ALL CAPS mode.
• Shift + Trackball – Highlight / select a section of text.

You can also copy/paste text by following the steps below:

• Copying – Select the text that you want to copy by using Shift+Trackball, hold the trackball in, and then select the “Copy” option.
• Pasting – Place the cursor where you would like your text to be pasted, hold the trackball in, and then select the “Paste” option. Your copied text then will appear.

Some of the most recommended software that ‘AppPack’ suggests are:

• Sherpa – This application presents users with locally-relevant business information, such as places to eat, banks, and tourist attractions. Over time, Sherpa will also recommend new places to you as they become available. This is a great app if you are traveling or new to a specific area.

Other features that the v2 version will include are: the absence of the chin that the current G1 has, making the design look more post-modern to compete with the iPhone look, and also a 5 megapixel camera!

The G1 v2 will be available from WalMart in October priced as $148 (with two year agreement).

How Textecution Works
The way that Textecution can prevent you from texting while driving is by using the G1′s motion detection capability. Whenever the car is moving faster than 10 miles per hour, a message will appear on any of the G1′s texting applications stating that “You Are Moving Too Fast To Use This Application”, and not allow the user access to the specific texting application.

This a great video for viewing the different ways that the G1 can be used, and showing how user-friendly the different methods of the G1 are.

According to Gizmodo, the G1 finally made an appearance on the new series of 90120 on the CW network. This is good news for G1 owners who have felt that the iPhone has had way too much exposure on TV.

This could also be used as a marketing/advertising move to the younger generation, and saying that Android phones are in!

1. Connect your G1 to your computer via USB.
2. Create a ‘Music’ folder on your G1′s memory card. This can be named any name that you like, but something that you’ll remember where your music is stored.
3. Open up iTunes on your PC. When open, select the playlist that you want on your G1 and select all the songs in your playlist (this can be done by CRTL+A).
4. Drag the selected playlist to your G1. It will automatically be added to the “Devices” section on the left-hand pane when iTunes loaded.
5. When this has done, right click on the playlist and select “Export Song List.” When prompted, select the XML option and export the playlist to the Desktop (or any fast, and easy place).
6. Exit iTunes and download an XML playlist converter. One that I recommend can be found here.
7. In the converter, where it says iTunes Song List to Convert select the XML file that you saved to your computer and click the “Convert” button.
8. When the file has downloaded, you will need to rename it with an extension of .m3u, because it will not create the extension on download.
9. Go to the ‘Music’ folder we created in step 2 and place the .m3u file in there.
